Artist's Comments

Woaaa.... I really survived this one *__*

I still can't believe, I finished this after one week daily work on it, but it had to be finished till today, because I want to post it in a community at lj for Miyavi.

Freedom means a lot of things. Going your own way, taking your own decissions and being responsible for those. Responsibility... something, not everyone wants, but it goes hand in hand with freedom. You can't blame anyone else, if you decided wrong, but you can learn from and without decissions, without responsibility, there won't be any freedom for you.

My other drawing, I did for him, but already sent him via the yearbook-project:

It's by far the most difficult and detailed drawing I've ever did since starting to draw 2 years ago. Even my Kagen no Tsuki Fanart wasn't that bad, because of less details.

It was a lot of fun and really relaxing, though... As always to draw Miyavi ^^
Inspired I was by this amazing work of *hedspace77

It's not nearly the same direction, but it made me want to draw something more complex than usual, although I will not reach that amazing talent in ages ^,^"

I feel bad that the trees seem a bit off, because of the scann and the contrast I had to add to get it more like the original... Also the black seems a bit digital that way, but this way was as close as possible to the original one >_>

Okay... that for now... I am so happy to have this finished, I don't know, what to say else. But was never that proud to be able to place my sig on a drawing as this time *__*

here the steps with explanation to the time, I needed:

Amazing! A big inspiration, lot's of detail and kudo's for doing this pic, as it has so much completely dark shadows! Great work, it's a bit hard to see the details because of the watermark and small size, but heck. I can't blame you for protecting your awesome work.

That leather jacket is stunning too, lot's of detail.

Only thing I don't like, is the shadows under the bike, they look a bit rough, but I know how hard it is to get smooth mid toned shadows when drawing with pencil. But still, this is highly impressive work!

Totally love it.

Your skills go from strength to strength - I can guide you, but only you can bring out deep feelings onto the paper. Even I couldn't draw a portrait like this! because you've chosen a ref photo full of depth - the trees/road in the background... to the complex motorbike in close-up. All the hard work and time really does show as a grand drawing. And don't forget how stunning his facial expression is here.
Aiming for complex drawings like this, helps you improve a good eye for proportion and attention to tiny details.

I would only suggest that the foreground shadows would be blended in better, because it's quite rough.

Truly wonderful!

You're welcome. Oh, I see. I love how you do details. Maybe after drawing a few simple things, you'll be in the mood for drawing something with a ton of details.
